Holiday Mail for Heroes

Holiday cards

Welcome to the fifth year of the Red Cross Holiday Mail For Heroes program! As in previous years, the Red Cross is collecting holiday cards to distribute to service members, veterans, and their families. If you’re looking for a fun way to give back a little bit this holiday season, this is a great option. If you want to work on  your own Holiday Cards to send in you can send cards to the address below:

Holiday Mail For Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

Alternatively, I am hosting a Holiday Card Party at my house on Friday evening, December 2nd from 6pm to 9pm. I’ll provide a pot of chili and cornbread and all the hot chocolate, coffee and tea that you’ll need to sustain you for an evening of fun and fellowship, creating holiday cards. There is no charge for this event. In fact, bring a friend!

All cards must be postmarked no later than Friday, December 9th. Cards postmarked after this date will unfortunately be returned to the sender. This deadline ensures enough time to sort and distribute cards before the holidays.

After the mailbox closes, the cards will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers working around the country.

You can read more about this program here:

Christmas cards galore!

The Believe Christmas Card Workshop was a success!  Seven us met on Saturday afternoon to create 20 Christmas cards each. We enjoyed welcoming 3 new gals to our group, sharing with them the joys of CTMH papers, stamps and embellishments. For those who couldn’t make it to the workshop and are still interested in making Christmas cards of their own, here’s a video from Close To My Heart on making faster, simpler, easier Christmas cards on your own at home:

If you’d like help acquiring any of the papers or stamp sets shown here, please contact me and I’d be happy to  help order them for you.
