Father’s Day

I invite you all to drop by with your kiddos to make a free Father’s Day card.  I have supplies prepared for two different cards:

Fathers Day 1

I already have one mom set to come by on Monday afternoon, June 2nd since her kids have half day of school that day, as well as 3 other friend’s kids. If anyone else wants to drop in, there should be a party going that day!

The kids will have fun, the  moms can relax and Dad will be surprised by the thoughtful cards (especially if you tuck a gift card to their favorite hardware or sporting good store!)

If you can’t make it that day, feel free to drop in any time between now and Father’s Day. Call ahead to make sure I’m home and I’d love to greet you!

Where:  1832 Birch Rd, McLean, VA

When:  any afternoon or evening

Free to Be Me and You’ve Got a Friend

I just love CTMH’s Free to Be Me papers with May’s Stamp of the Month, “You’ve Got a Friend”! I challenged myself to create a card with each of the five images in the stamp set:

May SOTM cards

The vellum with gold embossed circles was so much fun for the “Love you to the Moon and Back!” sentiment, along with the rocket cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I really like the vellum over red CS. It was packaged that way when I got the paper pack and I was immediately drawn to the muted dark pinkish resulting background….

The multicolored triangle pattern paper is faintly “harlequin-ish” (is that even a word?) and matched the trendy mustache image for the “Merci Beaucoup” card…

The gold circle washi tape is a perfect complement to the gold embossed vellum on the apple card above. Love the paper pieced apple with the red patterned paper for the apple as well….

The words on the zip strip, including “awesome” go great as an arrow pointing to my favorite Randy Newman lyrics, “You’ve got a friend in me!”

Finally, the “You’re the Best” ribbon card looks great with the arrows paper and was cased from fellow consultant, Blythe Shupe.

The Free to Be Me paper pack and the May Stamp of the Month, “You’ve Got A Friend” are an awesome set!!  They are both lots of fun to play with and are available for only $5 each this month (with a qualifying order). You can get them on my CTMH website    along with directions for 6 more cards you can make.

I just wanna’ be… Free to Be Me!!

Mother/Daughter Jewelry Party

Update on the Base and Bling Pendant Party:

Thanks to all the Moms and Daughters (and sons) who showed up!  We raised $177 for Operation Smile.  We had a fun evening with coconut shrimp, raspberries and chocolate, wine and fizzy drinks.

The girls made necklaces for themselves, for their moms, for their teachers and for friends. It was fun to see the creativity flowing. Some of the necklaces used the Style Sheets provided, others used monogram initials, stamped images, B&T papers, small photographs and even hand drawn images. By the end of the evening even my son and his buddy begged to make “medallions” to wear 😉

My son made a monogram medallion and his friend used the star inside circles on the Free Thinker Style sheet to create a “Captain America” medallion. Love it!!  They are both proud as can be….

Take a look at some of the creations:

Thanks for Stopping By!!

I’m offering a fun evening out for moms and daughters to enjoy crafting pendants together. You can make matching ones, complementary ones or completely independent pendants (get it?!).   Bring a friend! Make extras for your favorite neighbor, grandma, or teacher. Designing them is so quick, easy and fun! This is open to moms and daughters, MWD’s (moms without daughters) and DWM’s (daughters without moms)!

The pendants come in round or square shapes and in antiqued gold or silver tones and I have an entire jewelry bar full of accompanying charms and chains.  You can add a small family photo to the center of the medallion, use an image from the Storyteller or Free Thinker style sheets, or even stamp an image for stylish pendants.

County Fairs in the Spring….

Every Spring we go to the local county fair, eat funnel cakes, ride on ferris wheels, pet the baby sheep, watch the tractor pull, look over the prize winning cakes, cookies and quilts.

The Jubilee paper pack evokes memories of these sweet times….  I love the gingham, doily and paisley handkerchief themes of these papers along with the vibrant colors of summer (Kraft paper, Indian Corn blue, Cranberry and Honey):
