Birthday Card

My daughter had a birthday last week and turned 8!  She loves to craft as much as I do, so we hand made the birthday invitations, using the December Stamp of the Month, “Cutie Pie”.  Here’s what we came up with:

bday card

and inside it completes, “Happy….. Birthday!”

Hope you like it. Thanks for looking!

Take Note!

CTMH’s January special for National Papercrafting month includes the fun paperback “Year Noted”.  It has cheerful new colors that I love: one is a cantalopey peach color and the other is a sort of light mint green.  The paperback, card stock and trendy stamp set are only $5 with a $50 purchase this month – a screaming good deal!

I spent the last snow day putting together some fun and cheerful layouts with this paper…  What an awesome way to cheer up a drab winter day!

New Years Challenge

I’m happy to announce Jeanette’s Creative Challenge! You’re invited to play along with me this year as we present weekly challenges to get your creative juices flowing.

Here’s how it’s going to go:

1. Tune in to our Facebook and Instagram pages each Monday to learn what Jeanette’s Creative Challenge will be. Follow Close To My Heart on Facebook and Instagram so you can get the details pronto! When she announces the challenge, you’ll see a sample project as your inspiration and it will then be up to you to create and share your own creations.

2. You have until the following Friday to post a photo of your own interpretation of the challenge to either our Facebook page or your own Instagram feed. Be sure to use the hashtag #jrlcreativechallenge when you post. You can search this hashtag at any time to see what others have posted!

3. What’s in it for you? This series is designed to inspire creative time and provide a place for unity and idea sharing each week. The challenge will give you a reason to get into your supplies on a regular basis for the sole purpose of having fun through crafting!

4. Oh, and did I mention there will be prizes? We’ll choose one random winner each week to receive a prize for participating. Jeannette will announce the previous week’s winners every Monday on Facebook and Instagram, just before the new challenge announcement.

Spread the word about this opportunity to anyone and everyone you know who loves creating, winning prizes, and a good challenge! The more people that get involved, the more fun it will be.

You can read more about the challenge on her blog: http://blog.closetomyheart.com/2015/01/06/whos-up-for-a-challenge/

Sounds like a blast, right? Get those scissors sharpened for Monday, January 12, when I’ll post our first Weekly Creative Challenge!

Happy Snowy New Year!

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution?  Everytime I make one, it falls by the wayside before Valetine’s Day…. So, this year I’m setting a fun one for myself: make more time for activities I enjoy…..  This includes spending time with my family, cooking and reading books….  and, oh yeah, scrapbooking 🙂   What could be better?

Most of the country has been hit by a wave of frigid snowy weather this first week of the new year. Puts me in the mind of hot cocoa and nordic sweaters….  perfect for the Snowhaven paperback:
